Special Places

Laurel Mountain

Laurel Mountain’s massive trail network, which includes the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, attracts hikers, campers, mountain bikers, equestrians, anglers, and trail runners. The granite domes on Pilot Cove Trail and Pilot Rock Trail are especially popular. The natural communities of the granite domes and outcrops are both scenic and biologically unique to the southern Blue Ridge.
