Siler Bald

Siler Bald, named for the same Siler family that gave its name to a bald in the Smokies, protects a long corridor of the Appalachian Trail from Winding Stairs Gap to Wayah Gap. The grassy bald offers spectacular views, and a trail shelter is nearby. The Right Prong of Rough Fork runs through a deep forest that is relatively untouched.
