Woods Mountain

The Mountains to Sea Trail winds across the top of Woods Mountain, where a side trail leads to an old tower site with sweeping vistas. Other primitive trails follow narrow creek valleys and climb through steep, rugged old-growth. Several rare species are found here, and black bear are abundant. Woods Mountain protects a vast viewshed of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
