Piercy Mountains

Over 26 miles of trails, including the Bartram Trail, lace the Piercy Mountains near the Nantahala River. The trail system provides excellent loop hikes and rides—and access to the Nantahala River, and Appletree Campground is a popular destination for larger groups. The old-growth forests, high mountains and clear streams of the Piercy Mountains provide first-class hunting, fishing, and hiking opportunities and habitat for several rare plants and animals.
